Final Symposium CRC 1078

Join the grand finale of CRC 1078 at the Final Symposium in Berlin!

The organizers of the Final Symposium CRC 1078 are delighted to invite you to this prestigious conference, taking place in Berlin. Join for 2.5 days of in-depth discussions on protonation dynamics in protein function.

Over the past dozen years, our CRC 1078 has been addressing critical challenges in understanding the protonation dynamics of several membrane proteins such as photosystem II, cytochrome C oxidase, channelrhodopsins and viroporins. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and shared expertise, we’ve made significant progress in electron- and chromophore-driven protonation dynamics and bridged the gap to explore fundamental processes by applying theoretical approaches.

This conference serves as a platform to showcase the remarkable work of our researchers and partners in the field of biophysics. Participants will have the opportunity to attend insightful presentations and network with peers and leaders in the field.

With a limited capacity of 130 participants, early registration is encouraged to secure your place at this exclusive gathering. The comprehensive program includes scientific talks, a poster session, opening ceremony, conference dinner, and more, promising a rewarding and enriching experience for all attendees. Student tickets are available for € 200, with regular tickets priced at € 300. Individual arrangements for travel and accommodation are at your disposal.

Oroboros O2k-Workshop

This 2.5-day training course provides an introduction the Oroboros O2k and NextGen-O2k including the O2k-PB-Module, O2k-NADH-Module, O2k-Q-Module and DatLab 8 and applications of the TIP2k. Demo experiments illustrate the principle and show the unique advantages and limitations of simultaneous monitoring of oxygen concentration, mitochondrial respiration, NADH- and Q-redox states. A demo experiment with algae will show an application of the PB-Module. Note that the demo experiments do not include hands-on sessions for the participants due to limitation in time. An application of the O2k-NO Amp-Module to measure endogenous NO production will be presented. Furthermore, this workshop covers interpretation of data from SUIT protocols.
